1. Purpose
This policy explains our values on child safeguarding, how concerns are identified, reported, recorded and resolved, the responsibilities of everyone who works with our students, and when external agencies are involved.
2. Scope
This policy applies to everyone who works with Qutors students, in person at Education City or online. That includes tutors, staff, administrators, interns, volunteers, contractors and partners, whether paid or unpaid.
3. Our Principles
Our approach is guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, recognised international good practice in child protection, and the laws of the State of Qatar.
We operate a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, neglect and exploitation.

5.5 Online sessions
Online sessions may be monitored or recorded for safeguarding and quality purposes. Parents and guardians are told before any recording takes place.
5.6 Empowering students
We encourage students to speak up, help them recognise when something is wrong, and make sure they know who they can turn to.
6. Reporting a Concern
Everyone covered by this policy has a duty to report any reasonable concern about a child's safety or wellbeing.
Concerns about a tutor or member of staff follow the same route and are handled under this policy.
7. Working with External Agencies
Qutors complies with all laws of the State of Qatar on the welfare and protection of children, including the duty to report suspected abuse or neglect. Where needed, the Safeguarding Lead refers concerns to the appropriate authorities and services, such as the Child Advocacy Program at Sidra Medicine, the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (AMAN), or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
Students and their families are informed of their right to raise a concern or make a referral directly to these services.
8. Confidentiality and Records
9. Review
This policy is reviewed every year and after any significant safeguarding incident.
